Is there a trick? I had an old one with bad chrome, and wanted to put it on a Weinmann. The Weinmann is so much thicker front to back, I had to shorten the arms that attach to the front of the brake - unbrazed the little plates, shortened the rods, and rebrazed the plates. (While I was at it, I brazed a swoopy headlight mount to it and mounted a Lucifer "Aero" headlamp - schweet! Still ride that bike, 20+ years later - the rack mostly gets used for six-packs).
Since the rods are curved, one could shorten 'em by increasing the curvature. I didn't try it, but it looked like you'd have to do a lot of that, and it'd look funny after - no?
