Early Italian frames are really quite rare in England and I was very pleased last weekend when I found an interesting 55cm Olmo track frame - which I suspect is from the 1950s or 60s. It is really beautifully made - much better than I am used to seeing on Italian frames. The mitreing inside the bottom bracket is just about perfect and the seat lug has a wonderful cutout on the lug over the slit. The lugs are I suppose quite standard early Italian with curly bits to them and the seat lug has a separate clip. Forks are really quite slender for a track bike and the rear ends are reinforced plate ones - not Campagnolo. The frame number is M 241 stamped on the rear of the seat lug. Does any list member know anything about earlier Olmos - I do also have an earlier touring Olmo with Campag Corsa twin lever gear and half chaincase which if I remember rightly is numbered in a similar way and which I think is from the late 40s too. Pictures of the track frame can be viewed at: http://images.andale.com/f2/118/129/2070911/1012501351101_Olmo.jpg
