I think you've made your case well. If it weren't for repro decals, where would all of our "faithful" restorations be? As long as the buyer knows what they are purchasing then it's a fair deal, even if the hoods aren't officially sanctioned. Finally I think the hoods are being made with a distinguishable design change.
