Was there a specific time period in which the three (sometimes two, I've noticed) braze-on rear brake cable guides came to be a standard on bikes? I know the routing under the toptube with the two cable stops existed as a commonplace before the toptube routing, but I'm wondering when the practice of using the toptube routing became "standard."
Thank you.
Cheers.
