Fellow Teledyne Titan owners:

I have been correponding with another listmember off-list on some of the idiosyncrasies of the Titan and the issue of dating came up. He has S/N TL000569 and I have TL000047. Seems reasonable that they would have used a sequential rather than random numbering scheme. Anyone out there have a Titan with a known or approximate date of manufacture? Rodney, Jerry, others?

I guess if I have the 47th frame, I'd better be real careful so as not to break it in half because that would put it earlier than the internal reinforcements at the swaged areas of the downtube. I guess that means in addition to using stupid light components, I'd better lose a few pounds. At least I don't have to worry about my crushingly strong sprinting style putting undue stress on the failure points!

Any insights (even if from the post-CR time span) on the failure mode of titanium would also be appreciated. I hope that it is more like steel than aluminum with respect to warning signs.

Thanks,
