This evening, Friday, there will be a showing of the classic Italian film "The Bicycle Thief". I have never seen this movie but was told it is pretty good but in Italian sub titles as it is pretty old and not translated. It is supposed to feature a man who loses his bicycle and thus his livelihood to a thief and spends most of the movie trying to get it back. It is a cult bicycle classic in some of the circles of gearheads I hang with. It will be shown at midnight on the TCM channel here in the NYC area. As they say, check your local listings. I also noticed it is followed by a movie called Umberto D, hmmmm! This whole Italian theme is from a special starting this evening by Martin Scorcese and classic Italian films.
