What a tempest in a teapot!
All I want to say is that it is only elitist if someone implies or says that you are somehow inferior because you do not appreciate or understand something. Everyone has differing degrees of knowledge and appreciation of numerous things, old bikes included. That some people appreciate, understand and love Confentes more than other people is just an example of how we differ. I don't believe that anyone has intended to infer that they are superior because they have an appreciation that some do not share or understand.
Personally I understand that Confentes are highly regarded and revered, but I doubt that I will ever have the resources or inclination to possess one, so I will do my best to appreciate the from afar.
