Brian, I have been following this thread and, sadly, I'm not qualified to comment. I've been understanding your planning up until the above. I've never seen anything attached to a stay with an expander, I'm of course thinking in terms of stems and I know seatposts have been made that way. Could you expand on this and explain what you'd be attaching and how it works, especially how you get parts inside the stay. Thanks.
