I'm sure that's because he's American and he has to deal with all sorts who
don't know how to pronounce "nye-oh-ki" (gnocchi). A lot of retro guys are
Nuovo Italiano, and have been around awhile. My #14 Catalogue clearly says
"gruppo" and so does my 1982 Catalogue. Since my #18 and 18bis, both say
"group", I don't think "group" is so new it's off topic. But since Richard is
primarily dealing with modern stuff, and they switched to "group" with
catalogue 18, were he to say "gruppo", he would only confuse his current
audience.
Since the list is pretty much made of retro-geeks, I'm sticking with
"Cahm-pahn-nyoh-low Grew-poh" (roll the "r" just a touch).
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it, like a lead out on a sprint.
