I have seen this done, in fact I did it that way myself a few times in the early days when I was lazy and didn't realize the risk. IMO that is not a safe procedure at all... Much of the glue "bed" is never built up, as it is squeezed out as one section is completed and then the process moves on to the next section. In any case, inadequate gluing is done as it only allows one very thin coat. Please! Take time to do this correctly! (as with so many thing!!)
