I'll say....it will probably last longer than it should, because it's on the non-drive side. Perhaps he doesn't like to bother inter-twining spokes??? I'd like to see the rim end of the spokes, as I would expect those "outbound" spokes to be a bit short via conventional spoke length determination methods?
