Here is my standard email I send to Ebay sellers before I bid:

"Please confirm no dents and tell me about any notable marks or scatches on the frame or components. Also, how much will you charge to ship to Orlando FL 32819?"

I depend on my own eyeballs when looking at the parts and if I have questions, I ask. Originality isn't that big a deal for me since I rarely buy anything over 20 years old or $1000. When selling, I use the same philosophy--tell the buyers general information about parts and condition that I would also want myself, a price with SHIPPING INCLUDED, and then respond to inquiries with details as required. Finally, I give a 100% guaranteed return if not satisfied and I expect the same when I buy. While return shipping is something that often is disputed, I rarely run into problems by following these general rules, although on occasion I get somebody who will point out to me that the springs on the skewers are not the original springs that came with that skewer (geez). If I were selling Herse, Singers and Confente bikes, perhaps I'd do something differently, but then, I doubt I'll ever find myself in that situation.
