How do we convince the current publishers of Bicycling to put even just a little of that past back into their magazine ? (who really wants Style Man, Dr Knobby... columns ? Or rather do the perceived readers of those columns really exist ?)

The short thread on Dr. Clifford Graves got me thinking about Bicycling magazine predecessor "American Cycling". Technical articles by Fred DeLong, Touring News was Dr. Graves column I believe, racing results from around the country and Europe too, ads for Moultons and Paramounts and the California shops like Cupertino and Velo-Sport, Jackie Simes shop in N.J. Boy those were the days, I was 12 and the proud owner of a Schwinn Continental, working at the LBS and saving for my first all campy bike, a Carlton made Meteor. Anyhow, rambling aside any other CR Members have memories of "American Cycling"?
