If the thought of breaking or destroying it brings you to tears or causes any kind of anguish, don't ride it. I am a cabinetmaker/installer by trade and I once worked with some men who collected antique tools. They would bring some of those tools to work and use them. One of them dropped an 189? Miller Falls plane and broke the casting. We heard about it for several days but what could he expect? If you use it, it wears out.
