I suspect that the larger-diameter concave washer came later than the smaller one. I have no idea when the actual change was made, or even if it occurred at a particular time. There may have simply been two sources for the washers, with Campy switching back and forth over time. The only "significant" difference among SR front ders that I've even noticed is in the size of the logo stamped on the outside of the cage. There are two sizes. One of the sizes (I can't recall which) is the same as the logo on my 4-hole NR front, so I assume this is the earlier logo. Based on a discussion with Mr. Maasland (sp?) last week, the size of the logo may have changed when a worn die was replaced. There are also some different initials cast into the outer arm, but I have no idea how these changed, and whether they reflect different vintages or different pieces of manufacturing equipment. Other than the minor logo change, I consider all SR fronts to be the same. If someone can decipher the significance of the cast-in markings, please let us know. Tom Dalton Bethlehem, PA

One design has a larger convex washer that goes between the front of the frame bracket and the back of the securing nut. Can anyone venture a guess as to which style is newer, and the approximate time periods they were produced? Thanks...
