Dale has assessed the Veloswap perfectly! It is not a true vintage gathering, but lots of vintage goodies are there.

This was my third year attending and I had a ball. I have never been lucky enough to attend one of the "true" vintage swaps, and have no interest whatsoever in modern bikes, whatever form they may take. I spent 5 1/2 hours at this one happily picking thru stuff, which was actually going thru the "good" section (avoiding dealer booths) 3 times. I bought a bike on my second trip thru (around noon), my friend found a complete Phil b.b for $20 on the third go round. The more you look the more you find. Recycled Cycles from St. Louis was there with A LOT of bikes under blankets. I can only imagine what one would find if they had gotten in the night before. If not for being broke after buying a bike and my friends wanting to leave, I would have went thru a couple more times. I think the privateers tend to really blow out their wares toward the end. I know one of the locals picked up a nice PX-10 for much lower than the $175 asking price at the end.

All in all, a great time. Is it worth it for the vintage buff to travel across the country to come to? That's up to you!

My two cents,
