Peter- I know its verboten to go against the "common wisdom" of the CR list, but my hands-on experience is different from indicated below. I have seen the model that you point out on ebay being called and decaled as a SUPERLEGGERA. Granted the marketing department at Bianchi changed over time as did model names. I recall another similar conundrum in the early 80s. Bianchi used the name of "Team Issue" on what was also labeled as a "Specialissima". To make more of this enigma even more perplexing was that this type of thing was never pointed out in any catalog. In the best case scenario, given input from other CR list members, I believe there is enough wiggle room in the "correct" naming of Bianchi bikes over the years that any answer is as good as the next. I might also state the obvious; don't buy a bike because it has, or does not have a certain name. Buy it because it is Made Well. Cheers, Dave Anderson Cut Bank MT

It is a common practice for Bianchi for many many years. I know in the early 90s for example . They had a TSX/UL, SBX, SLX. and Pista. no model names. These were the framesets you could purchase. I have a SBX which has served me many miles. My dream bike then was the Bianchi Kronos Time Trial Bicycle. I loved the look of that bike. \r?\n> Thanks Chuck,

\r?\n> I guess I was expecting it to be a Special or Super something or other.

\r?\n> No model name?

\r?\n> Seems odd, but maybe something to do with how it was marketed back then?

\r?\n> Was SLX tubing a big enough deal in itself that that's all it took?
