Latest list of frames, parts and books for sale to CR members before they go to Ebay. Some items have already been to Ebay - they are now offered to CR members at a considerable saving. The books are part of a collection I have just purchased. I have photos of many of the items - or can take one if necessary. All items are priced in $. Shipping will be extra charged at cost. Frames typically cost about $100 in a double skinned box but can be sent more cheaply (single skinned box and surface mail if required) Enquire for actual cost if you like before deciding. Payment can be made in cash with dollars or by money order in Pounds sterling ($1.45 to 1 GBP). American Express Travellers cheques in $ are also fine. I can take PayPal but I have to charge 5% extra to cover the cost my bank charges me. Regards Hilary Stone, Bristol, England
PROTAR LEGNANO BARTALI KIT 1:9 scale These I think are no longer made. This one models 1938 Tour de France winning Legnano of Bartali. For those who are not aware of these kits they are metal and plastic and fully detailed with rubber tyres etc. Lots of work for winter nights - and they take up a lot less space than the full size thing! $35
HOLDSWORTH MONSOON 23in (ctt) FRAME 22 1/4in top tube (ctc) c1962 The lugs are a nice scrolly type with one version of the Nervex fork crown. At present it has Bob Jackson transfers and the paintwork is poor. I can get this frame refinished in the UK with transfers (the correct ones are available) for prices starting from about $140. The frames appears to be perfectly straight, and there do not appear to be any dents but there is a little surface rust appearing through the paint. Original Campag ends and curved seat stay bridge. $165
HELYETT 22in (ctt) RENE VIETTO MODEL ROAD FRAME c1949 22in top tube (ctc). Original paint and transfers. Paint is rather poor but most of the transfers are there. It has a non original fork in it at present but luckily I found a Helyett fork which will fit fine and which is included. This is a very nice quality frame with diamond shaped reinforcers at the end of the seatstay brake bridge tubes and original concealed rear brake cable inside the top tube, two chainstay bridges and lots of other lovelyy touches. Head lugs are really quite nice with windows though I do not recognise the make. Simplex ends with a Simplex gear hanger. I can supply at extra cost a suitable Simplex Tour de France rear gear for this frame. Like the Holdsworth I could get this frame refinished in the UK and get repro transfers made. $145
HIGGINS ULTRALIGHT 20in FRAME c1947-8 Seat tube is 20in (c-to-t) and top tube is 21 1/4in (c-to-c). Has Simplex gear lever braze-on, attractive road ends, and head badge. Higgins was best known as a builder of tricycles but he also built some very nice bicycles too. Unusually for the period he used proper jigs and thought carefully about frame geometry. This is is his lugless model. The frame is in very sound condition - there is one very small and very minor dent on the top tube and the rear chainstays show a tiny amount of pitting. It has been repainted and most is still good but most buyers would want to repaint it. I can get the correct replacement transfers for the buyer at extra cost or arrange to have it refinished at cost in the UK. Photos and catalogue copy are available. $185
