In contrast, my uber-collectable 1965 Sears Ted Williams Sport Racing does not have a lever catch. It substitutes a nice set of custom, parallel paint scratches from autographing by the Campy shift levers sliding slowly down. In prepping bikes for paint, I used to grind out a little lever catch from a bit of hardened cut nail, just because the shape could be made nice. Then braze it on...
