Did people tie sew up spares behind their saddles? If they did what would they have tied them on with? Old shoe lace - leather strap - toe strap - old sock? I have been playing with the display of my old bikes here in my office and wanted to set one up like someone had just gotten off and placed it there. Can you think of anything else they did to set up bikes that would be different from modern bikes?
