I am finally around to putting my Peugeot (1970's PR-10L) back together and thought I should ask a question before proceding.
I am not clear on which way the Stronglight BB axle should go in. Measured from the end of the axle to the bearing surface, one side is a few (maybe 3 mm) milimeters longer than the other. The tapers seem a bit different in length as well, though I don't recall which side was longer.
I put it in (loose fit) with the shorter side on the non-drive side. The non-drive side crank seems to sit rather close to the adjustable cup. There seems to be plenty of room to spare on the drive side (fixed cup).
Any words of wisdom on which way the BB axle should go?
