"1. I have both a Universal & Wienmann centerpull brakeset. Would one set be more "correct" than the other? Both are NOS,both from the same period. 2. I have 2 clampon Campy NR fr. derailleurs. One has a flat outer cage plate, the other a lipped outer cage plate. I don't know when Campy started putting the curved lip on their derailleurs."

CC responds:

1. The 1976 catalogue (a bit later) lists Weinman carrera sidepulls with Campagnolo sidepulls as optional. My recollection is that the earlier ones had Weinmann centerpull equipment. I'll try to dig up my 1967 catalogue to see what was listed then. The centerpulls might have been Weinmanns that were rebranded simply "Schwinn Approved". That's the best I can contribute on the brake issue.

2. Chuck Schmidts Campagnolo Timeline should give you the definitive year for the Consumer Product Safety Commission's mandated change to the curved derailer lip.

Good luck with your restoration.
