I start with the little I know and the rest of you experts can chime in with your contributions:
Embossed oval BROOKS logo - pre 1955
Embossed keystone BROOKS logo - post 1955
Pre WWII saddles had the bag loops as eyelets piercing the leather at the back of the saddle instead of incorporated into the cantle plate.
The metal tags on the backs of the saddles vary quite a bit as to what year which one was used or if any was used at all; sorry I don't know the answer.
