   finish? >> I think you only sacrifice a couple of threads inside the BB where it won't show, so instead of a full inch of threads toy have maybe 3/4". That's plenty. If you can assemble it as it is, do so. You can't replace originality or patina. Stevan Thomas Alameda, CA
