Thanks to everyone who helped out with their suggestions. After consideration, I decided to drill and tap. I drilled out the old screw "right down Broadway" and chased out the rest. I actually have a lot of experience with E-Z outs and the like, I wanted to see if anyone had a super-trick way of doing it. I wouldn't recommend this method to someone who never used a tap or E-Z out, or who is easily squeamish.
