Anyone wanting to attempt something similar? I have a 23" Raleigh Sprite frameset with passable original metallic red paintwork, free to the first volunteer, you pay shipping.

Mine came with 27" wheels, fwiw.

I never went in for that customized hot rod look for classic road bikes and always preferred a more original look. I did notice a lowly Raleigh Sprite 5-speed that is highly customized and actually pretty cool looking on ebay:

Lots of swanky British accessories and I like the down turned bars. Not exactly the treatment I would give a high end road bike, but definitely gave me some ideas for that run-of-the-mill British 3-speed, Raleigh Sprite, etc. that I run across.
