I have an interesting mid seventies Dutch made "Gazelle" Reynolds 531 frame and fork for sale. This was going to be my winter tinkering bike until I found something a little nicer to work on. The frame has nice wraparound seatstays that nearly meet at the top of the seat lug. Very attractive, though the head lug itself is an ugly square-bottom affair. Rear brake bridge is also unusual--a sort of butterfly-shaped steel plate, lightened with cutouts, and a beefy socket brazed in for the mounting bolt. The fork has gorgeous leaping gazelles embossed on the crown and the chrome here is good, as is the chrome on the rear stays. BUT it looks like this frame has been converted to single speed and then back-- the deraileur hanger has been re-brazed, so the chrome is gone from the hanger. Paint is gold and paint condition is poor to fair. Lots of nicks and scrapes. One sizeable dent underneath the top tube in front of the seat lug (funny spot--maybe from bouncing around on a rack?). Probably best to touch it up and use it as a rider or re-convert to single speed. Many interesting features on a serviceable frame that's seen better days. Asking $100 OBO (plus shipping). Pics and more details available on request. Contact me off list. Will also consider trade for interesting component(s).
