Brandon,

I just remembered that I have ANOTHER Lippy frame in my collection, technically. Right now it's in the boneyard where it's been for several years. I don't remember where I inherited it from but it's a rather large frame, 64.5cm c-t. It's a touring bike with custom made rear rack (made to be mounted to the cantilever bosses and dropout eyelets) painted to match. The frame needs a new top tube and down tube but is otherwise complete and in good order. The seat stays are attached "Hellenic" style to the top tube, so the repair is a little differant but no big deal really. Frame is Reynolds 531 from the "boxed sets" and has Campag. sport vertical dropouts, Nervex fork crown (just like my other one), Bocama shortpoint lugs, and Gargatte BB shell. Someday I'll fix it; and most likely keep it because it's kinda cool and VERY early American. This one is numbered "0028" so I assume it's older than my other one and it has the "older style" decals just like my other frame.

Anyone know when Keith Lippy started framebuilding and approx. what year(s) frames number "0028" and "069" are from? My guess is the frames are from between 1972 and 1974 judging by the tubes and lugs used. Anyone??

Brian Baylis La Mesa,CA I'm starting to think there is no such thing as too many old Colnagos.
