Regarding an attempt to save 115gm of weight by changing out a chain, let us remember that it might not simply be just about that 115gm. For lovers of the vintage bike who can also sometimes show "weight weenie" tendencies (such as myself), it is about wanting to save that 115gm on EVERY part (more or less, of course) and not just the chain. This too doesn't always happen overnight, and can be done pieces at a time of need be, as budget allows. It is also fortunate that the list gains from the sharing of wisdom and experience of those who have walked the path before us, to potentially save us from making the same mistakes. Or, we get the fun of comparing out mistakes to those of others, when we did not follow good advice! Such is life :) Thanks...
