Hey, guys and gals: Steve's doing a Good Deed for all of us. Here's an idea to encourage this kind of community good: If you put a buck in the envelope, and if 20 of us do it, that would about cover the estimated investment (except for time), which is a small way to say thanks to Steve.
Say you're asking for 10 O-rings. With the buck included, your cost is only $1.78 for 10 (plus the envelopes, I know), or less than 20 cents each. Not a bad deal for you, eh?
I have not asked Steve for permission to suggest this, so he can't get embarassed if you do it spontaneously. :-)
thanks harvey sachs mcLean va
I have recently received a shipment of nitrile o-rings which work nicely on the adjusters for campagnolo brakes. The good news is that they were easy to find, and cheap (about two cents each, including shipping); the bad news is that the minimum order was 1000 o-rings. So, now I have enough o-rings to supply half the known universe, and I'm happy to share them with people who need them.
Here are links to a couple pictures of them:

So, if anyone wants some, here's how we'll do it:
1. Please send me a stamped, self addressed envelope with regular first-class postage. Send it to
Steve Maas Nonlinear Technologies, Inc. PO Box 7284 Long Beach, CA 90807-2623
2. Let me know, in the letter, how many you need, up to a dozen or so. (I'm not here to resupply anyone's shop or eBay business!)
3. If you're outside the US, contact me first by e-mail. If it's just one or two requests, I'll simply mail them out. If there are many, we'll have to figure out something to cover the postage.
