Aside from believing the T&S issue or not, one warning Uncle Al has included several times in his rants concerns the toxic lead fumes from soldering. This is false. Lead vaporizes at considerably higher temps than hand-soldering temps. The fumes, while still not great to breath, are just the flux. You can absorb lead cutaneously by handling it, but not from soldering fumes.
