There is period correctness, then there are practical considerations of comfort. My used Casati came with a Flite saddle. Although I am enamored with the titanium rails, it just isn't that comfortable. Mark Bulgier's catalog scans show a bike like mine with a Selle Italia saddle with the letters RS. The saddle looks like suede.
I need some advice. It seems that a lot of members use Brooks saddles, but I am having a hard time imagining a B17 on an Italian SR equipped bike from late in our time window. I think it would have looked anachronistic even in 1982.
Selle San Marco still makes the Rolls and Concor saddles. Does anyone have experience with them?
Is there a modern saddle without all the screaming graphics that might work without looking totally out of place?
My LBS does not have a giant selection. The mail order places have too many.
Thanks,
