Kurt,

Sometimes people with agendas have a hard time believing that others have no agenda. Ever considered the possibility that some people have nothing to sell? Maybe someone really DOES actually care about the subject enough to sincerely state their opinions that are based on personal experience. Just because it isn't in line with others peoples tastes or opinions donen't make it an agenda. That's what I see. No one needs to be defensive, I'm not condemning anyone. I simply aim to elevate the level of knowlwdge amongst those who care about such things. I can't see how people with keener eyes and a greater appreciation for frames and framebuilding is a bad thing. Am I wrong?

I'm not fond of being at odds with my fellow framebuilders. If I'm making someone nervous just say so. For the past 30 years we have all been friends with common goals and interests. Has something changed within the ranks lately? If illuminating artistry and craftsmanship has suddenly become taboo amonst American framebuilders you have caught me off guard. I didn't realize there had been a change. Sorry. If something I've said is interperted by you or anyone else as a "shot across your bow" then that's your problem. My policy is to always state what I believe to be the truth. I don't need to fabricate facts, I have plenty of experiences to back up my statements. That's how one builds credibility. Nothing has changed with me. If that is a problem on your end then let's talk off list. You'll find that my only agenda is to keep people informed; not by feeding them what to think, but how to use their own eyes. Most people on the list have been thanking me for taking the time to pass my knowledge on.

I think this onlist banter between Steven and BB illustrates the many different tastes we all possess. We all like what we like and that's it. Tastes or opinions should not be mistaken as facts. They're just tastes or opinions. Nothing more. So here's my opinion- While this exchange is interesting it seems to me both parties have agendas driving this exchange. These agendas get in the way of truly expressing personal opinions and lead to "shots across the bow" statements. I might be wrong but I might not. It's just my opinion. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.<grin>
