Hi all, who opened this can of worms, where could I start. Firstly, when talking about cars, sorry Dale, Vintage is pre something or a rather, Veteran is not as old and Classic is anything over 20 years old. Now wether or not this could be applicable to bike I don't know. No doubt someone will let us all know.
Yes I do agree that some eBay sellers do use the word RARE far to often, sure it might be RARE for them, but if they did their research first on eBay, they might have seen another 20 people selling the same thing.
Right onto NOS, this one is easy, NOS means to me, never been used or mounted on a bike, I really only use this term on eBay or my sales list, SH means second hand/used, just as its says, just the condition needs to be mentioned. Another term, "Take off" can be used. Sometimes you might have fitted a NOS parts for fitting purposes, testing alignment etc, this part will show very little in the way of use damage etc, I feel this is applicable as well, well that enough for now, I'll let someone ramble on......regards wayne davidson Invers NZ......
