Yes, depending on how heavy you are, how bad the roads are and how light on your wheels you are, you may have frequent axle breakage, even if the drop outs are properly aligned. A Shimano S.I.S. cassette hub is bullet proof. The twist tooth design shifts better than anything out there.

The NR has the travel, but the pulley cage will very likely "ting" on the spokes. The SR is better, it has flush screws on the backside. The NR can be ground a bit on the back side where the screws protrude, but it may or may not be enough. You can put the SR jockey cage on the NR if you're trying to make it work with a certain year derailleur body.

Take the frame to someone with an alignment table, get the whole thing aligned and spread the back end on the table.
