Speaking for myself, I am impressed and grateful that there is someone on this list who can converse with a member of the Cinelli family. The opportunity to get responses straight from the source is just terrific.

I have a beautiful Cinelli badge that came off a 60's Cinelli I once had :( - don't ask. It never had a trace of paint on it as long as I have had it. I was surprised to find out from the information on this list that it had once been painted. I just received another brass badge for the 60's Frejus track bike I am currently working on. This badge also is devoid of paint. I am seriously considering painting both badges. I have been collecting pictures of both badge types in preparation for this project. There are a few things I cannot determine from the pictures. Is the paint glossy? An enamel perhaps? After thoroughly cleaning the badge in solvent (acetone?) do I use a primer? In model making I use a base coat on metal parts before painting. Any tips at all would be appreciated.

And Steven, please keep telling us of your dialogue with Mr. Cinelli. I hang on every word.
