Tom, congrats on your new Moon frame, it is truly a beautiful piece og work! That frame is a highly refined piece of functional art or craft (take your pick!) The paint is super too (Kudos, Brian!)

Looking at the work, I was trying to think about all this business about form, shaping, thinning, balance, design elements....

I think one key aspects of design that Keith uses so well is the fact that there is not more lug material than necessary. The rhythm and frequency of small scallops, cutouts and shapes are distinctive (you can't miss them) but they are also discreet, not large exaggerations and over blown. This is tough stuff to do!

I know some cringe at the reference to artistry in bikes, but even craft items, which by definition must function well first, can have their elements of art. This frame is a perfect example of that delicate balance between the incorporation of unique elaboration and decoration, versus the useful/functional aspect, that being a thoroughly rideable bicycle.

While not vintage, this bike surely is classic!
