Be sure to take the Campagnolo seat binder bolts and place them carefully in the trash. They break and will leave you stranded far from home. Use the Suginos instead, or else carry two spares on the road. (Yes, I know a guy who broke his bolt and my spare on one ride.)
Other items that are nice to have "in stock":
Curved washers to fit nutted brakes.
Velox cotton rim tape.
Twine for whip finishes on cotton bar tape. If you're really degenerate like me you'll have assorted colours.
Cable end caps. Amazing how fast you go through these.
3 feet of spare (black?) cable housing in the bottom of the tool box, in case you underestimate how much housing to buy for each project. I sat looking at a bike once at 10:00pm the Friday night before the big ride with the housing for the left barcon 6 inches too short, and wept. Had to use clamp on shifters for that day. And to be really prepared, have brake and derailleur housing.
A few spare brake and derailleur cables. If you cut one of your new cables too short, it's nice to have a spare in the bottom of the tool box to rescue you.
