Having a number of bikes in the stable, some of them complete, some not, it becomes hard to distinguish between a "pantry" and a "sportif stocks".

I tend to have pretty much everything on hand, essentially complete gruppos in my fave editions (off topic, but Shimano 7400/10, 8 speed Dura Ace, has been a very dependable group), as well as extras of the bits that wear out, chains, pads, cogs, rings, also small parts that break, like seat clamp bolts.

I agree on the comment on saddles too. I probably have 8 or more of my preferred saddle, some biffed, some NIB. I also carry a stock of tires, although you can't let that get too deep, because at some point the rubber will lose its resiliency.

Strictly on topic, I have stocks of some harder to find pieces. I have a running list of stuff that I watch for and when it pops up at a reasonable price, I spring for it.
