Multiple problems Tom. To get the der. to move on the drop out, ya need a scootch more room. Use a good sharp razor blade and take the paint off of the raised portion of the dropout ear that the der. presses against. Then use a little grease. Usually works. Remember that the Ultra 7 is equivalent in width to the normal 6 speed freewheel. To get it right, you might have to respace the rear hub. i.e. move washers/spacers from non-drive to drive side. Re-dish. Don't curse too much. Don't be afraid to "machine" (file) the left locknut thinner (on the side she touches the inner face of the left dropout) to get the room you need on the drive side. I've used the nut before on a five speed set up, but this is a 7 speed ultra freewheel and things are pretty tight. On the other hand, the main bolt is holding the whole derailleur pretty tight to the drop out and the derailleur seems unmoving as I shift up and down the cluster.
