Subject: [CR]Vittoria shifter question

Question for the group:

Regarding the second generation Vittoria Margherita shifter, (the one with the flippers underneath the chainstay, and the hinged, sprung tensioner), does the spring on the tension-arm go on the top, or the bottom? That is, does the spring push the arm away from the chain, or toward it? It seems logical that the spring would push down on the arm, to tension the chain, but, from where I sit, looking at this thing as I try to piece it together, the spring can be mounted only to push the arm *away* from the chain.

Any help would be much appreciated.
