Hallo Listmembers,
thanks for all the hints about my glue-problem. The red stuff was indeed *very* old, my guess is it was from the first and only glue-up these wheels have ever seen, in 1975. I used a teaspoon (not so good) and a spatula with a rounded tip (very good) in combination with engine cleaner with good results. Now i have a similar problem with my insanely expensive, of-topic carbon wheels, but i stick to axlegrease and Coleman-fuel with them :-)
