In response to Tom Martin's question as to what films I have I must mention Louie Malle's Viva La Tour which is a short (maybe 20 minutes total) documentary of the TDF filmed probably in the late sixties. Its extremely interesting and probably available through the usual sources. Louie Malle narrates his film and I believe has passed away but was married to Candice Bergen I think.
