There were three different kinds of fairly thin tubing used on Volumetricas, Excel, True Temper and another one I don't recall. The 3V stands for "3 Volumetrica" meaning 3 oversize (main) tubes, so yes, all 3Vs are Volumetricas. Each different tubing required a different set of internal lugs as they were all slightly different dimensions (wall thickness). I have seen a very recent one that did not have the traditional, Masi style seat stay attachment, it was shot in as a fast back, and personally I didn't care for it. Alberto is still making them. Classic content: Scott Davis in Minneapolis has Masi headbadges, made by the original maker, but in chrome instead of brass. Perfect for making your 3V
