Regarding the date established for the "Secret Surprise Brian Baylis 50th B-day Ride" which was originally announced as Mar.9, 2003 has generated a few requests for a possible change of date. Apparently the Mt. Baldy Brevet is taking place the day before and a few or our gang are going to participate. I don't want to penalize them for getting out there and riding their asses off. Therefore on behalf of Charles Andrews and Matty Gorski, two of my favorite riding friends, I am considering moving the date to Mar. 16, 2003 instead. Does that help? Does that exclude anyone who could previously make Mar. 9? Please let me know. I'm certainly willing to postpone my 50 spankings from each of you for one week!
I have also been in contact with Jimmy Thomson regarding the Hetchins Heavan gathering he holds annually at his home. He would like to hold the event Sat. April 19, 2003 in an effort to provide us with cooler weather for the hilly ride afterwards. Take note that this date is the day before Easter Sunday. I need to know if this is a big problem for anyone who would like to attend. I believe Jimmy prefers this date so I'd like to keep it there if possible. This year Jimmy has I think 26 Hetchins in his collection, two more than last year. As always, the more Hetchins in attendance the better. He will be profiding the refreshments as always, so we will need a headcount before the event. I will be organizing a little token of our appreciation from the group for Jimmy and Helen to express our privlidge to see his bikes all at once every year. Let me know as soon as you can wheather the date is doable for those who are planning to attend. The event is in Fallbrook, CA.
