Hmmm. That is interesting, as the cranks I have seen were swaged. They were imported by a shop in Arizona or New Mexico I think.. Domenic's or similar? So the question is, did the screwed together version predate those, or the other way around? That would reinforce my theory that this might have been (functionally not theoretically) the achilles heel of this design....
