Scott and crew
I have a Faliero decalled MAsi (it says Faliero MAsi on the dt) That i recently purchased from the original owner(he was some sorta of physician for pro-athletes if i recall right). When i first saw the bike ,i was dubious,,becuz i never sseen a masi with such decals and most of all,no serial number. The "Doctor"told that he had Faliero built him such bike as a sign of friendship. Before purchasin it,i took pix and sent them to ALberto in MIlano, askin info and tellin him what the guy told me(Wheels are Mavic set donated by MOser after a race in MOntecatini)He replied me a day later with the following email:
Subject: R: info regarding Masi bicycle
Dear Mr. Brandi Thank you for the information. I can assure you that the bike shown is surely a bicycle produced by Faliero. Bikes of that type and with those decal sets are very uncommon (no more than 4 were made)The fact that there are no identification numbers is possible as these bikes were only intended for a few friends and would therefore be considered 'special custom orders.' I no longer have any similar decal sets, nor any spare parts etc. The bike would have been produced between 1972 and 1974, however I couldn't be more precise.
Thank you and best regards, A. Masi
I showed th eemail to a "notorious" list member which he kindly translated it for me. Ill probably bring it to ALberto(along with ttwo other masi i have) sometimes this month.so i can ask him more questions about it.Ill gladly send thes epix to anyone ,and ill also send them to Greg fletcher Masi-site(Dale,ill send them to you too, just gimme a sign!)for public view and enjoyment,so ,stay tuned!
