All, I guess I'm stuck in that pre-83 frame of mind but I like it just fine and yes, expanding would increase the # of emails to go through. 83 to 85 is the gray area. And some one should start and take care of a 1983 to present (?) list. I'd subscribe. So that's at least two. The nice thing I noticed is that this too often occurring "time frame discussion" seems to have brought out quite a few list members that aren't heard from all that often. PLEASE chime in now that ya'all have found the keyboard fellas (and ladies). What about some new topics about old stuff? Good idea! Even I get a little sick and tired of Masi discussions. Well, not really. What about " the most unusual, weird, never before seen by you Campagnolo bit" topic? Just my humble opinion. And if you like the above idea and would like to see some of this stuff in the flesh (chrome) then... just as a reminder to all, I'm reposting this announcement for the feeble minded (like me) that forget. No excuses. JUST SHOW.
ATTENTION ALL LIST MEMBERS, You are all cordially invited to the next monthly meeting of the Brooklyn Velodrome Vintage Wheelmen, the BVVW, (which is a tangent of Gruppo Sportivo Pergolizzi). This will be an informal gathering of all N.Y. metro area cyclists who share an interest in vintage bicycles and cycling history. We can talk the old talk (1930 to 1980). We ,(@10 certified freaks)will hang and talk bikes for @ 2 hours. Subject for the evenings discussion and show and tell will be "Campagnolo; history of the arcane and unusual". Corkscrews, nutcrackers, and a Campy box from the 1930's (rarest of rare) will be making their first public appearances in years. The N.Y.Times and Enquirer are vying for the photo rights. Bring interesting printed matter, pictures, parts, and weird stuff for show and tell. Also, my laptop will provide jpegs of this years Cirque Du Ciclisme. So, if ya wasen't there, here's your chance. Meet at Emmy's bike shop, 141-East 17th St.,N.Y.,N.Y. (just west of 3rd ave.) at 5:30-6:00pm. Friday evening, June 6, 2003. At @7:30 we will make our way to John's Pizzeria at 278 Bleeker St. in Greenwich Village(or a closer watering hole w/food if its only Norman and me ). Pizza is coal fired brick oven. We seen the coal pile in the basement while waiting on line last meeting. Budweiser is on tap. Ernesto the waiter takes good care of us. As long as he gets his "tribute". I expect a few new members from Long Island and a SPECIAL announcement will be made as to future guest speakers. You won't believe who say's he'll come! And without a bribe. Do me a favor and save yourselves future heartache and just show up cause we have ALLOT of FUN. Expect to get home by the next morning.
