Jerry: You maybe hit something for the Chicago market - the "fence" of the Schwinn dealer network. Friends who bought "10 spd race bikes" went to Licktons for Dawes, Holdsworth, Witcomb. Only French around were Motobecane and Mercier from another northside dealer. Roberts Cyclyes handled Peugot but no one I knew went there because of it's location. No idea what could have happened to all those Peugots Roberts must have sold over the years. To students from Northwestern U in adjacent Evanston?
