Yes it is just to let you use the arms from the TA 5 bolt tourist with the 6 arm rings. I remember seeing some on cyclecross bikes years ago. I was told this was stiffer. Steven Willis 1778 East Second Street Scotch Plains NJ 07076 908-322-9022 http://www.thebikestand.com

you know, i havent the slightest idea what it *actually* is - but my first *guess* would be something similar to this - an "adapteur" from the 5-pin 80mm bcd of the ta crankarm to the 80mm bcd of standard ta inners? like this: http://www.blackbirdsf.org/ta/images/adaptrando.p.jpg - but smaller (that one is for 116mm "randonneur" chainwheels) one of these could be made so as to space the chainwheels that crucial 4mm over... i want to say ive seen pics or drawings of something like this, but since i havent posted pics to my ta site, i tend to think that im kidding myself there :)

"etoile" means "star" in french, so i consider that a hint.

id love to see a pic, just out of sheer curiousity!
